A press conference and cocktail was held in Hillside Su Hotel hosted by ATSO (Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and Antalya Convention Bureau on June 6, 2011 for organizing ICCA 2014 (International Congress and Convention Association) General Assembly in Antalya.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of National Defense Mr. Vecdi Gönül, Chairman of Council of Europe Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Antalya Parliamentarians Mr. Deniz Baykal and Mr. Tunca Toskay, Antalya Governor Dr. Ahmet Altıparmak, Deputy General Manager of Promotion of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Mr. Levent Demirel as well as ICVB Manager Mrs. Elif Balcı Fisunoğlu, TUROFED Chairman Mr. Ahmet Barut, AKTOB Chairman Mr. Sururi Çorabatır, Assembly Members of Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry that have spent great efforts in bringing ICCA 2014 to Antalya and finally Tourism Operators, representatives of Non-Governmental Organizations and national and local press members of Antalya.
After the promotional video that was prepared specially for the final promotional activity before IMEX Frankfurt Fair, firstly Mr. Nizamettin Şen, who is ATAV Chairman and also Antalya Convention Bureau Vice President, took the floor and explained the milestones that Convention Bureau have covered until today and stated that the city applied as a candidate for this convention after restructuring under ATSO (Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry) after the election of Mr. Çetin Osman Budak as the chairman of Convention Bureau and that importance of this candidacy process may not be appreciated even by most Antalya residents right now but it shall be a very strong impulse for Convention Organizers to organize their own conventions in Antalya in respect of convention tourism in Antalya and this is a new milestone in the tourism history of Antalya. Mr. Şen also thanked the President Mr. Abdullah Gül, General Managers and Deputy Managers of Promotion of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Chairman of İstanbul Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Murat Yalçıntaş and Istanbul Convention Bureau General Manager Mrs. Elif Balcı Fisunoğlu as well as Mrs. Nurhan Erdem Tanır that resigned from the position of General Manager of Antalya Convention Bureau on June 1st and finally Professional Convention Organizer Kenes Turkey that has co-led this project from the very beginning. Taking the floor after Mr. Şen, Chairman of Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry and also Antalya Convention Bureau Mr. Çetin Osman Budak stated that restructuring of Antalya Convention Bureau is a fruit of the support of ATSO and the determination to accomplish and that the cooperation between Government, Public, Non-Governmental Organizations and Private Sector has proven to be extremely successful and thanked all the parties that have contributed to this success as well as the President of Republic of Turkey Mr. Abdullah Gül and the Chairman of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and ICVB Dr. Murat Yalcıntaş.

Mr. Çetin Osman Budak pointed out to the fact that becoming the preferred organizer of ICCA 2014 should be crowned with a Convention and Culture Center that is worthy of Antalya and that he wishes that these preparations are all completed until ICCA 2014.

Thirdly, Deputy General Manager of Promotion of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Mr. Levent Demirel took the floor and stated that they are ready for any kind of assistance and contribution in every respect and that they also started spending efforts on organizing ABTA 2012 (The Association of British Travel Agents) as the Ministry and Antalya Convention Bureau and that ABTA Chairman shall visit Antalya in the beginning of the month of July and then they will start preparing for ASTA 2015 (American Society of Travel Agents) from then on. Mr. Demirel stated that a very successful campaign was led for ICCA 2014 by Government, Public and Private Sector and success came by itself as a result of this perfect harmony and cooperation.

Finally Antalya Governor Mr. Dr. Ahmet Altıparmak took the floor and stated that a huge success has been made and that the share of determination in such accomplishments has been proven once again. The Governor also said that he thought at first what kind of a stubborn man he was confronted with when he first saw Mr. Nizamettin Şen when the subject was first raised and defended insistently, however that this is the greatest evidence of the fact that nothing can withstand the power of determination and faith. Mr. Altıparmak stated that any kind of support shall be provided for the success of these conventions and convention bureau subject should also be paid attention. Mr. Altıparmak finally thanked everyone who has contributed to the organization of this convention.
